Many things cost you more than the price. Before purchasing a new material possession, I ask myself, “Will this give me more value and pleasure than the pain of…” Storage? Cleaning? Maintenance? Repair? Replacement?
I like reliable stuff. If I can't find something durable, I buy the least expensive model (e.g. coffee maker, toaster oven) because I reckon they last just as long as the more expensive models.
