How much have you changed throughout your life?
Iām not the same person I was in my 20s. Heck, Iām not even the same person I was several years ago.
Iāve noticed that my life seems to change about every 10 years.
The world changes.
What I want for my life changes.
And I pivot, adapt, and grow.
I used to think that was strange. Why couldnāt I choose a path and take it all the way to the end of my days? Isnāt that what we're supposed to do?
But I eventually realized that is an artificial view of life and reality. Thatās not stability. It's stagnation and decay. Nothing is fixed. Nothing is forever. And thatās a good thing.
Life is supposed to be a series of reinventions.
You can try to fight it.
You can refuse to budge.
And⦠you will get tossed around.
Or, you can recognize that chaos is powerful and change is inevitable. Weāre all experiencing that right now! Glide on top of those wild currents and use the energy to guide your life in the new directions of your choosing.
Donāt fight reinvention. Accept it, harness the power, and get ahead of it, rather than resigning yourself to being a passive victim.
Become who YOU want to become. Donāt let yourself fade into a weaker shadow of what you used to be. This is your chance for renewal and a fresh, exciting start.
The most interesting people are those who are always exploring, learning, evolving, and improving. There is no such thing as āperfection,ā so why would you pretend that you have achieved it or try to stand still?
The idea of never crossing the finish lineānever reaching the summitāis stressful and depressing for some people. Maybe Iām the strange one, but I find it exciting that the journey never ends. The adventure never ends.
Have you ever read an amazing book and wished it would never end?
Have you ever watched a wonderful movie and felt sad when it ended?
Have you ever been on a fantastic vacation and wished it would last forever?
Your life can be like that!
Reframe that lack of perfection and absence of a finish line as the sign that your life is an ever-evolving adventure and you are the hero of that story who will continue to become more than you ever imagined.
I get chills when I realize that! Itās pretty damn amazing. But it requires that you take ownership of your life and your path. Don't let anyone else put you in a box and limit what you can become.
