It's all too easy to push yourself hard and work 24/7 when you're ambitious. I get it! You feel you can never catch up. Your to-do list keeps growing instead of shrinking.
But you'll burn out that way.
I finally realized that no amount of time spent working would ever be enough to accomplish everything I wanted. I could literally work 24/7 and still be behind in pursuing my ambitions.
The truth is, youāre not being as effective during your working hours as you could be when youāre feeling tired and stressed. If you never āturn off,ā you never get a chance to recharge.
You have to make time for play, too!
I'm a workaholic. I know that about myself (and I've heard about it from my wife, too š). I have to resist that tendency.
So, I'm trying to get better about taking time away from work and devices to just "be in the moment."
For example, this past weekend, we put on costumes and went to a party. You can see the photo below. No, thatās not my usual hairstyle. š¤£
