Start your day on your terms! ☀️
☕️ Savor your morning coffee or tea.
🧘🏽♀️ Meditate in silence for a few minutes.
📓 Write something in your daily journal.
🥾 Move your body (outside in fresh air, if you can).
It helps to feel centered before the chaos of the workday begins. I've been doing this every morning to set the tone of my days for many years. I'm addicted to the ritual now!
Sometimes, I'll relive memories from a recent hike through photos and videos (like the one below from last week). They calm me and make me feel happy.
Today, spending just 20 minutes journaling on my front deck shifted everything for me. I felt calm. More focused. More hopeful about the future. And I'll carry this energy with me into the rest of the day.
We spend too much time reacting to outside forces, demands, and people (hey, boss!). We forget that WE can choose how to start our days.
I know I gave up that power for many years. But I reclaimed it, and that renewed power and freedom changed things for me forever.
So, if you’ve been starting your workdays with a jolt of work stress, maybe try a different way for a week and see how it changes how you feel those mornings.
